Yoga for Beginners teaches the foundations of yoga. Safe practices are taught and permit learners to create a basis for further yoga exploration. Therapeutic routines will help remove impurities, toxins, tensions, and imbalances. Classes improve flexibility and strength. Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, and Dharana techniques will be taught from Hatha and Raja branches of yoga—from where all learners should begin yoga. Hatha Yoga is emphasized for purification, balance of physical and mental energies, and the restoration of energy. Raja Yoga is incorporated for the mind: to improve focus, memory, concentration, and equanimity. This class is for those new to yoga, for those who have missed the basics of yoga, and for those with health issues and/or restricted movement. This series would also benefit seniors and expectant mothers.
